Mission Statement

"The mission of Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc., a sisterhood of Business and Professional women, is to provide community service and support, encourage scholarly pursuits, and to empower its members to address societal issues."

Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc. was founded sixty-nine years ago, under the leadership of the Florence K Williamson Norman, who shared her vision of having an organization of business and professional women who would help improve the quality of life for others by sharing their knowledge and expertise. Twenty-five other college-trained women shared this vision and were founding members of our sorority on January 19, 1937. This organization was incorporated on March 16, 1938 in New York State. Alpha, Beta and Gamma, in various boroughs of New York City, were the first three chapters. Currently, there are chapters throughout the Northeastern, Southern, North Central and Western regions of the United States. The office of Grand Basileus is held by Marcia M. Wade.
