Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc., founded in 1937, is a national sisterhood of college educated, business and professional women. We are an affiliate of the National Council of Negro Women and a member of the Black Women's Agenda.
The women of Lambda Kappa Mu are dedicated to the improvement of life in their communities. Our ideals: Sisterhood, Achievement, Service and Scholarship, are the cornerstones upon which our Sorority is built.
The national program focuses on Educational Involvement, Social and Community issues, Health Initiatives, Political and Cultural Awareness and Youth Advocacy. Each chapter tailors its programs and projects to meet the specific needs of their communities. Our youth program, The Kopelles, provides guidance and mentoring for teenage girls. Financial assistance is awarded to deserving students pursuing a college education, through our Florence K. Norman Scholarship Fund.
Lambda Kappa Mu is currently engaged in a membership campaign to recruit women who exemplify our ideals and are willing to commit their time and talents to promote our programs. The spirit of sisterhood permeates all of our endeavors. Lambda Kappa Mu offers its members the opportunity to be enriched by interacting, networking and bonding with other like-minded women interested in having a positive impact on their communities.
